Praying on the Mountain

Hebrews 12:22-24 "But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn [who are] registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than [that of] Abel." (NKJV)

What happens when we pray?

Well, for starters you bring yourself into the presence of the heavenly host. Try and picture the spiritual dynamics going on in the spiritual realm the next time you are praying and it will help you immensely.

When, by simply faith, you step into the presence of the Almighty God, you bring yourself into the company of the heavenly host. For indeed, this is what we do each time we consciously acknowledge the presence of God and bring our praise and petitions to Him.

Take a read of Hebrews 12: 22-24 again.

The heavenly Jerusalem is the realm of faith. We were given access to this realm by the precious blood of Jesus. It?s the realm where angels exist. We became part of this company when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and saviour. This is where the church of God really exists. Those who don?t belong to this realm do not belong to the true Church of God.

God is the judge of this realm and the precious blood of Jesus is the currency we need to operate within it. Faith in Jesus is essential.

Prayer lifts you higher up the mountain. The more time you spend on the mountain the easier it gets to receive from the Father.

The next time you stand (or kneel) in prayer to God and your flesh starts protesting, use your mind to imagine what is happening in the spiritual realm, and maybe God will open your spiritual eyes to have a little glimpse ? It will change your attitude to prayer forever.
